The Palms Lifestyle Village

Daniel from The Palms Lifestyle Villages in Tikipunga wanted to ensure his residents can enjoy a premium experience in their cinema room.

Skopik was contacted soon after Daniel’s experience visiting the Remuera Gardens Retirement Village cinema. He wanted a high-end cinema that could be controlled via a simple system that staff and residents could comfortably use.

Upon a site visit, AV Manager, Jeff Sundrum discussed Daniel's requirements and assessed the rooms specifications. In collaboration with Izzard Design, Skopik transformed an empty box, into a tier-seated, fully-automated cinema.

With the use of reliable and intuitive Control4 automation hardware, staff and residents were able to utilise the cinema with ease.

Works Completed

• Supply, installation and calibration of 4K Projection solution with 150” acoustically transparent screen
• Supply, installation and fine-tuning of studio-grade JBL 11.1 channel surround sound cinema speakers, powered by Crown DSP Amplifiers
• Supply, installation and configuration of Yamaha 4K AV Processor
• Supply, installation and programming of Control4 automation hardware including 10” wall-mounted LCD touch screen for system control
• Supply and programming of Control4 lighting hardware
• Supply, installation and configuration of network equipment including gigabit network switch and enterprise grade wireless access
• Supply and configuration of premium 20 space equipment rack on castors, including necessary shelving and support bars
• Supply and installation of 4K Apple TV, Blu-ray Player & Intel NUC Mini PC for guest presenters
• Supply of 24 premium theatre grade seats
• Testing of all hardware and services to ensure all aspects of the system function flawlessly
• Comprehensive training, including production of laminated user guide to ensure all necessary parties are competent with use of system
