Ponsonby Smart Home
Skopik provided an all-in-one Smart Home solution for this Ponsonby home, where pre-wiring, hardware installation and future-proofing was key. Our client had requested a simple-to-use, yet comprehensive system, including Audio-Visual, CCTV, Access Control, Security and Wireless.
Working in collaboration with our client, Skopik designed and implemented a complete Smart Home solution that took into account the current home setup, as well as allowing flexibility for future AV requirements.
A 2-stage approached was conceived during the planning process of the project. Stage 1 was focussed on pre-wiring existing and yet to be installed systems for IT, AV and Security. Stage 2 focussed on the hardware installation.
This 2-stage approach resulted in a comprehensive solution that allows our client to control all aspects of their home via one of the in-wall touchscreens, or mobile devices while out and about.
Works Completed
Stage 1: Pre-wire
- Running all Cat6, RG6 and Cat6A cables for security, data, access control and CCTV throughout the basement and first floor
- Coiling cables at required locations, ready for future hardware installation
- Relocating and re-route existing cables for sirens, cameras, touchscreens and keypads, as and where required
- Pre-wire new smoke detector
- Site inspections with client and designer to make changes as required
Stage 2: Hardware Installation
- Supply, install and commission of full smart-home solution including:
o Network
o MATV
o Rack & Accessories
o Audio Visual/Automation
o CCTV
o Access Control
o Security - Installation and setup of WiFi
- Supply, installation and calibration of Hikvision CCTV Network Cameras
- Supply, installation and commissioning of Security Panel and Hardware
- Supply and installation of AV Hardware including Control4 & distribution equipment, Apple TV, Touchscreens and Network Hardware
- Build and installation of the Middleatlantic Rack
- Installation and programming of TVs and Soundbars
- Installation of Alarm Hub
- Installation and configuration of Wireless Access Points
- Configuration of all Network Hardware
- Installation of Touchscreens and Door Stations
- Set up of Control4 app on client’s phones/iPad
- System training with client including supplying user manuals
